Friends of Belmar Harbor presents:
Shark River Sailing & Science Academy
Registration has started. An exciting summer on the water is being planned.
Belmar will allow youth programs to operate this summer with limits and various guidelines. FOBH will continue to work closely with our host community and values their leadership and recommendations.
Due to the need to have smaller program sizes, and greater instructor to student ratio, especially for the Shark River Discovery camp, our cost per student this summer is much higher. Despite this FOBH is not increasing the rate levels for our Youth Programs, but we will not be offering the Early Bird Discount. Members are still receiving a discount due to their hours of volunteering. Anyone interested in volunteering membership should see the membership section of this web site.
It is important to note that the NJ Health Department lists individual sailing in their lowest risk category with multi person sailing being just one level higher. FOBH is dedicated to making the environment at our Shark River Sailing & Science Academy safe and low risk. We are dedicated and very much look forward to teaching our community youth life skills which are best learned through learning to sail, and introducing everyone about the natural wonders of our little bay.
It is our current plan to offer sailing and a our popular Shark River Discover camp beginning on Monday June 28. Discovery Camp. Due to the limited number of students, we recommend registering as soon as possible.
- Members contact Geoff for Discount Code after paying 2021 dues.
Youth Programs will be at the same rate level as previous years.
without a discount, Sailing $325 per student per week
without a discount, Discover Camp $275 per student per week.
Families who work in health services or are first responders should review our News Page for information about Ocean First Bank Scholarships.
